How do I become a "Major League Gamer"?

Video games have always been apart of my life, and recently I've gotten very competitive with the games I play. I am 19 years old, and I have been thinking and dreaming of becoming a MLG since I was at least 14. Can anyone tell me the necessary steps I need to take to become one?
