Cat(Kitten) and waterbed? Is that a bad idea?

I don't know if this helps but in my only experience with this, the cat was terrified of the water bed and stayed off of it. I've never personally owned a water bed but my boyfriend at the time (later my husband) was living with a roommate who had one. He also had a cat. The cat did not like being on the bed and would jump off if it was put on it. The cat was totally white and deaf as well but I don't know if that was a factor in its aversion to the bed. It's possible the cat didn't like how much it moved around. Too much motion can make some cats nervous. As for springing leaks, the material is pretty tough. The cat could cause a small hole but it would have to dig in pretty deep to do more damage. By the way, I also used to live in Florida and I didn't like it either. Couldn't take the humidity or the bugs.
