MLG and competitive gaming !?

Me and my friends decided to make a clan which was nothing serious, we all have gamertags which are two completely random words . For example, mine is AquaticPepper and another ones gamertag is DuckyChutoy . Some like them, some hate them. We play a lot of games , like borderlands and gta , halo etc . Do you have to be approached by an MLG representative to become classed as ' MLG ' as we are good enough . Are gamerscores are around 10,000 . Please tell us how to get classed as MLG !!! all help will be appreciated :D
