What are my chances of going on a MIT team?

I'm a reservist in the 6th Comm. Battalion, 4th MLG, and I want to volunteer for a MIT team. what are the chances of that happening? Who should I talk to in my shop (SHF shop)? Would they be hesitant to let me go because of my MOS (2831, a 9 month MOS school)? I am still at 29 stumps, but leaving in a couple weeks, just getting off over a year of active duty.
